Public Advisory: Beware of Scams Impersonating Land Transport Authority (LTA)

erp-finl.top
erp-calx.top

The Singapore Police Force (SPF) has observed a recent trend of scam websites impersonating the Land Transport Authority (LTA). These scam sites, with suspicious URLs such as erp-finl.top and erp-calx.top, are designed to phish for personal information or trick victims into fake investment schemes. These scams aim to compromise your personal and financial security.

Here’s how you can ACT against these scams:

Check for scam signs and verify with official sources

  • Be wary of unexpected messages or websites claiming to be from LTA that offer investment opportunities or ask for your personal and banking details. LTA will not solicit for investments or request sensitive information via unofficial channels.
  • Always scrutinise the website address (URL). Legitimate LTA websites use official government domains (e.g., www.lta.gov.sg). URLs like erp-finl.top or erp-calx.top are not official LTA websites.

Add security features & Tell authorities, family and friends

If you have clicked on a suspicious link, provided your details, or suspect you have been affected:

  1. Change your passwords for all your online accounts, especially those sharing similar credentials. Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) for added security where available.
  2. Contact your bank immediately if any financial details were compromised.
  3. Make a police report.
  4. Inform your family and and friends about the scam to prevent them from falling victim.
