The Singapore Police Force would like to alert the public to a rise in scam websites and messages impersonating the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA). These scams attempt to trick you into revealing personal information or making payments.
To protect yourself,
- Add security features:
- Enhance your online security by enabling two-factor authentication (2FA) for your accounts and using strong, unique passwords.
- Check for scam signs:
- Be suspicious of unsolicited messages, emails, or websites claiming to be from ICA, especially those with unusual URLs (e.g., non-
ica.gov.sg addresses).
- Official ICA communications will never ask for your Singpass credentials, bank account details, or one-time passwords (OTPs) through unofficial channels.
- Tell authorities, family and friends:
- If you encounter such a scam, inform others to raise awareness.
- If you have clicked on a suspicious link, provided personal details, or made a payment, report it to the police immediately and inform your bank to prevent unauthorised transactions.
