We have observed a trend of phishing websites impersonating the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS).
How to recognise this scam:
- Scammers create fake websites that look like the official IRAS site, often claiming to offer tax refunds or requiring urgent action.
- Always check the website address (URL). Official IRAS websites typically end with ".gov.sg" (e.g., iras.gov.sg). Scam websites will have suspicious or incorrect addresses, such as "richpark.shop" or other unfamiliar domains.
What to do if you are affected:
If you suspect you have entered personal or financial details on such a fake website, please take immediate action:
- Notify your bank immediately to monitor your accounts for any unauthorised transactions.
- Change any passwords that might have been compromised.
- Report the incident to the Singapore Police Force.
