Advisory: Beware of Phishing Scams Targeting Carousell Users

allfreegoods.shop

The Singapore Police Force has observed a trend of phishing scams targeting users of online marketplaces like Carousell. Scammers are creating fake websites to trick individuals into revealing their personal and banking details. We have noted instances involving fraudulent websites such as allfreegoods.shop.

To protect yourself and ACT against such scams, remember to:

  • Checking for scam signs and verifying with official sources:
    • Always verify the website URL. Be suspicious if a link directs you to a site that looks like Carousell but has an unfamiliar address (e.g., allfreegoods.shop) instead of carousell.sg.
    • Be cautious of requests for your login credentials, One-Time Passwords (OTPs), or credit card details outside the official Carousell app or secure payment gateways.

If you suspect you have fallen victim to such a phishing scam:

  • Telling authorities, family and friends: Immediately change your passwords for your Carousell account and any other accounts where you use the same credentials.
  • Telling authorities: Report the incident to Carousell's official support channels.
  • Monitor your bank and credit card statements closely for any unauthorised transactions. If you find any, report them to your bank immediately.
  • Lodge a police report.
