The Singapore Police Force would like to alert members of the public to a recurring phishing scam impersonating the Land Transport Authority (LTA)'s OneMotoring portal. We have observed scam sites such as "onemotoring-iza.top" attempting to trick users into revealing their personal information.
How to recognise these scams:
- You receive unexpected messages or encounter websites with unofficial URLs (e.g., "onemotoring-iza.top") asking for your personal or banking details. Official LTA OneMotoring services are found at
www.onemotoring.lta.gov.sg.
- These fake websites may look similar to the official OneMotoring portal but are designed to steal your information, especially if they ask for sensitive details like your Singpass login or banking credentials.
What to do if you encounter or are affected by such a scam:
- Do not click on suspicious links. Always verify the authenticity of websites by typing the official URL directly into your browser. For LTA services, this is
www.lta.gov.sg or www.onemotoring.lta.gov.sg.
- If you have provided your banking details, contact your bank immediately to freeze your accounts and report the fraudulent transaction.
- Change your passwords for all online accounts that may have been compromised, especially if you used the same password on multiple platforms.
- Report the incident to the police.
Remember, you can ACT against scams:
- Add security features like Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) for your online accounts, and enable security notifications.
- Check for scam signs, such as unofficial URLs, unusual requests for personal information, or suspicious messages. Always verify information with official sources.
- Tell authorities, family, and friends about scams to protect yourself and your community. Share information about these scam tactics to raise awareness.
