Advisory: Beware of Phishing Scams Impersonating LTA
gsaz.cc
The Singapore Police Force has observed recent phishing attempts impersonating the Land Transport Authority (LTA). These scams typically involve messages or websites designed to look like official LTA communications, aiming to trick you into revealing personal or financial information. Some of these fraudulent websites use suspicious URLs like gsaz.cc.
How to recognise this scam:
- You receive unexpected messages (SMS, email, or social media) claiming to be from LTA, often containing suspicious links (e.g., starting with
gsaz.ccor other unfamiliar domains). - The messages may ask you to click a link to update personal details, pay fines, or resolve vehicle-related issues, often creating a sense of urgency.
What to do if you were affected:
If you clicked on a suspicious link or provided your personal or financial details:
- Do not proceed further on the scam site. Immediately close the browser or application.
- Monitor your bank accounts and credit card statements for any unauthorised transactions. Contact your bank immediately if you spot anything suspicious.
- Change passwords for any accounts (e.g., Singpass, banking, email) if you entered those credentials on the scam site. Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) for added security where possible.
- Report the incident to the police.
