Alert: Phishing Scams Impersonating Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS)

iras.nakadaniko.com.sg

The Singapore Police Force has observed an increase in phishing scams impersonating the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS). Scammers create fake websites that look like official IRAS portals, often distributed through malicious links in unsolicited messages. These sites are designed to trick you into revealing your personal and banking details.

Here's how to recognise such scams:

  • Verify the website address: Always check the URL carefully. Official IRAS websites will always use iras.gov.sg as their domain. Be wary of any variations or unfamiliar web addresses like iras.nakadaniko.com.sg.
  • Be suspicious of unsolicited requests for sensitive information: IRAS will not send unexpected emails or SMSes asking you to provide your banking details, Singpass login credentials, or other sensitive personal information via unverified links.

If you suspect you have fallen victim:

  • Do not provide any personal or banking details on suspicious websites.
  • If you have already provided details, immediately change your passwords for any compromised online accounts and monitor your bank statements for any unauthorised transactions.
  • Report the scam to the Police via the anti-scam hotline at 1800-722-6688 or submit a report online at www.police.gov.sg/iwitness.

Remember, you can ACT against scams:

  • Add security features like Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) for your online accounts.
  • Check for scam signs and verify information with official sources. For IRAS, always refer to their official website at iras.gov.sg or call their official helpline.
  • Tell authorities, family, and friends about scams to help protect others.
