The Singapore Police Force (SPF) would like to alert the public to a recurring trend of phishing scams impersonating delivery companies, such as Ninjavan. Scammers are sending fake messages to trick individuals into revealing personal information or making payments.
How to Recognise These Scams:
- Scammers send unexpected SMS or emails pretending to be from delivery companies like Ninjavan, asking you to click on suspicious links (e.g.,
cottu.top) to reschedule deliveries or resolve issues.
- These fake messages often request personal information, banking details, or small payments, even if you are not expecting a parcel. Always verify the sender and the link before clicking.
What to Do If You Were Affected:
If you suspect you have fallen victim to such a scam, remember to ACT immediately:
- Add security features: Change any compromised passwords immediately and enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) on all your online accounts.
- Check for scam signs: Contact your bank immediately if you have provided any banking details or made any payments to the scam site. Monitor your bank accounts for unauthorised transactions.
- Tell authorities, family and friends: Report the incident to the police. Share information about the scam with your family and friends to protect them.
