Phishing Scams Impersonating Booking.com Observed

myhotel-1899.co

The Singapore Police Force has observed recent phishing scam attempts impersonating popular accommodation booking platforms like Booking.com. Scammers are using fake websites to trick victims into revealing their personal information.

Here’s how to recognise such scams:

  • Always check the website address carefully. Legitimate Booking.com websites will typically use "booking.com" or related official domains, not variations like "myhotel-1899.co".
  • Be cautious of unexpected messages or emails asking you to click on links or provide personal details, especially if they create a sense of urgency.

If you suspect you have fallen victim to this scam:

  • Immediately change your password for your Booking.com account and any other accounts where you use the same password.
  • Monitor your bank and credit card statements for any unauthorised transactions.
  • Report the incident to Booking.com directly through their official customer support channels.
  • Lodge a police report.
