Advisory: Phishing Scams Impersonating Booking.com

reserv-advanced67745303.com

The Singapore Police Force (SPF) has observed a trend of phishing scams impersonating popular booking platforms, such as Booking.com. Scammers create fake websites that mimic the official platform to trick users into revealing their personal information, login credentials, or payment details.

Here's how to recognise such scams:

  • Always check the website address (URL) carefully. Official Booking.com websites will start with booking.com, not suspicious variations like reserv-advanced67745303.com.
  • Be wary of unexpected messages, emails, or links asking you to log in or provide personal information related to your bookings.

If you suspect you have encountered such a scam or have provided your details on a fake site:

  1. Change your password immediately for your Booking.com account and any other online accounts where you use the same password.
  2. Monitor your bank and credit card statements closely for any unauthorised transactions. If you spot anything suspicious, report it to your bank immediately.
  3. Report the incident to Booking.com through their official channels and to the police via the SPF hotline at 1800-255-0000 or submit an online report at www.police.gov.sg/iwitness.

Remember, you can "ACT" against scams:

  • Add security features like Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) for your online accounts.
  • Check for scam signs, especially suspicious URLs and unexpected requests for personal information, and verify with official sources.
  • Tell authorities, family, and friends about scams.
