The Singapore Police Force (SPF) has recently observed a trend of job scams, with several reports involving websites impersonating brands like ZFuse and TUbi.

Scammers are offering seemingly easy part-time jobs, often promising high returns for simple tasks such as rating products or liking social media posts. These scams aim to trick victims into providing personal information or making payments.

How to recognise this scam:

  • You receive unsolicited messages or encounter online advertisements offering attractive part-time job opportunities with high, guaranteed returns for minimal effort.
  • The job offers often impersonate legitimate companies (e.g., ZFuse, TUbi) but direct you to suspicious websites with unusual domain names.

What to do if you were affected:

If you suspect you have fallen victim to such a scam, immediately cease all communication with the scammers. Report any monetary losses to your bank and the police. Change passwords for any online accounts that may have been compromised.

I can ACT against scams:

  • Add security features: Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) for all your online accounts and use strong, unique passwords.
  • Check for scam signs: Always verify job offers directly with the official company website or trusted sources. Be wary of unusual URLs, grammatical errors, or requests for upfront payments.
  • Tell authorities, family and friends: Share information about these scams to protect others in your community. Report scam websites or messages to the authorities.
