Advisory: Protect Yourself from Gov.sg Impersonation Scams

cly114514.workers.dev

The Singapore Police Force has observed a trend of scam websites impersonating Gov.sg. Scammers create fake sites to trick individuals into revealing personal or financial information.

Here’s how you can recognise these scams:

  • Check the website address carefully. Official Singapore government websites typically end with ".gov.sg". Scam sites often use suspicious or unusual domain names (e.g., "cly114514.workers.dev").
  • Be wary of unexpected messages or links. Always question unsolicited messages that ask you to click on links or provide personal details, even if they appear to be from Gov.sg.

If you suspect you have fallen victim to such a scam:

  1. Stop all communication immediately. Do not provide any more information or make any payments.
  2. Report the incident. If you have provided banking details, contact your bank immediately to stop any transactions. Report the scam to the Police via the Police Hotline at 1800-255-0000 or submit a report online at www.police.gov.sg/iwitness.
  3. Inform your family and friends. Share this advisory to help them stay vigilant against similar scams.
