Advisory: Beware of Fake SPF Websites Impersonating Singapore Police Force

policegov.eu.cc

The Singapore Police Force (SPF) has observed an increase in scam websites impersonating our official channels. These phishing sites attempt to trick members of the public into revealing their personal and banking details. They are designed to look like legitimate SPF platforms.

How to Recognise This Scam:

  • Suspicious Web Addresses: Be highly suspicious of websites claiming to be the Singapore Police Force that use unusual or non-official web addresses, such as policegov.eu.cc. Official Singapore Police Force websites always end with .gov.sg.
  • Requests for Personal Data: These scam sites typically prompt you to provide sensitive information like your personal particulars, login credentials, or banking details, often under the pretext of an investigation or urgent action. The SPF will never ask for such information on unofficial platforms or through unsecured channels.

What to Do If Affected: If you encounter such a suspicious website, or if you have provided your details on one, remember to ACT against scams:

  • Add security features: Immediately change passwords for any accounts that may have been compromised. Enhance your online security by enabling Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) wherever possible.
  • Check for scam signs: Always verify the legitimacy of websites and online communications. Cross-reference URLs with official sources. Official Singapore government websites always end with .gov.sg.
  • Tell authorities, family and friends: Report the incident to the Police immediately. Block the fraudulent website or sender and inform your friends and family about this scam to protect them.
