Advisory: Protect Yourself from Fake SingPost Websites

894144.cc

The Singapore Police Force has observed an increase in reports involving fake SingPost websites, such as 894144.cc. Scammers are using these fraudulent sites to trick members of the public into revealing personal or banking details.

How to recognise this scam:

  • Scammers create fake SingPost websites that look authentic and often ask for personal details or a small payment for parcel delivery or redelivery. These sites may appear after clicking a link in an SMS or email.
  • Always check the website address carefully. Official SingPost websites will only use domains like singpost.com or mypost.singpost.com. Be wary of unexpected messages claiming to be from SingPost, especially those asking for payment or personal information.

What to do if you were affected:

If you have provided your personal or banking details on a suspicious website:

  • Immediately change passwords for any online accounts that share those details.
  • Contact your bank or card issuer to report any unauthorised transactions or compromised card information.
  • Report the scam to the Police.

Protect yourself and those around you:

  • Add security features (e.g., Two-Factor Authentication) to your online accounts.
  • Check for scam signs and verify with official sources (e.g., the official SingPost website or their customer service hotline).
  • Tell authorities, family and friends about scams you encounter.
