The Singapore Police Force would like to alert the public to phishing scams impersonating Lalamove. Scammers are creating fake websites and sending deceptive messages to trick users into revealing their personal information or login credentials.
Here's how to recognise these scams:
- Always check the website address. Official Lalamove websites will always start with
lalamove.com. Be suspicious of unfamiliar or slightly altered URLs (e.g., fload.buzz).
- Be cautious of unexpected messages (SMS, email, or social media) claiming to be from Lalamove, especially if they ask you to click on a link to verify account details, track a parcel, or make a payment.
What to do if you encounter such a scam or have fallen victim:
- Do not click on suspicious links. If you receive an unexpected message from Lalamove, verify its authenticity through the official Lalamove app or website.
- If you have entered your Lalamove login details or personal information on a suspicious website, change your Lalamove password immediately. If you have used the same password for other accounts, change those too.
- If you have provided banking or credit card details, contact your bank immediately to monitor your accounts for unauthorised transactions and take necessary actions.
- Report the scam to the police. You can do this by calling the Police Hotline at 1800-255-0000 or submitting an online report at www.police.gov.sg/iwitness.
