Beware of Fake Investment Scams Promising High Returns

The Singapore Police Force (SPF) has observed a trend of investment scams circulating online, often using fake websites or platforms. These scams lure victims with promises of high returns, often related to cryptocurrency mining or other attractive investment schemes.

How to recognise these scams:

  • Be wary of online 'investment' opportunities that promise unusually high or guaranteed returns with little to no risk. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
  • Look out for unfamiliar or newly created websites, especially those with unusual domain names (e.g., doge-miningbank.vip, ctxpublic.online, gnfmall.com), which may mimic legitimate platforms.

What to do if you are affected:

If you suspect you have fallen victim to such a scam:

  • Immediately stop all communication with the scammers.
  • Report the incident to your bank or credit card company to halt any transactions.
  • Lodge a police report at any Neighbourhood Police Centre or online via the SPF e-service portal.
