Advisory: Beware of Fake 'Charge+' Investment Schemes

chargingpiles.autos

The Singapore Police Force (SPF) has observed a trend of fake investment schemes using the brand name "Charge+". These scams lure victims with promises of high returns through investments in charging piles or related services.

How to recognise this scam:

  • You receive unsolicited offers, often online or via messaging apps, promoting high-return investment opportunities in "charging piles" or electric vehicle infrastructure, claiming to be from "Charge+".
  • You are directed to suspicious websites, such as chargingpiles.autos or similar URLs, that appear to be investment platforms but are not legitimate.

What to do if you encounter such a scam or have been affected:

  • ACT by Checking for scam signs: Be wary of investment opportunities that promise unrealistically high returns with little to no risk. Verify any investment scheme with official sources like the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) Investor Alert List before committing any funds.
  • ACT by Telling authorities, family, and friends: If you suspect you have fallen victim to this scam, stop all communication with the scammers immediately. Report it to the police and inform your bank if you have transferred any money.

Remember, if an investment offer sounds too good to be true, it likely is.
