Advisory: Beware of Fake Banking Websites Impersonating DBS and UOB

The Singapore Police Force (SPF) observes a rise in scam websites impersonating local banks, specifically DBS and UOB. These phishing sites aim to trick you into revealing your banking credentials and One-Time Passwords (OTPs).

How to recognise these scams:

  • Check the website address: Always verify that you are on the official DBS or UOB website (e.g., dbs.com.sg, uob.com.sg). Scammers use fake URLs that look similar but are incorrect (e.g., resend-clicks-a.com, ifreelance4u.com, utradetsg1.top).
  • Check for unsolicited requests for information: Banks will not ask you to click on unverified links to update personal details, verify transactions, or resolve account issues by providing your login credentials and OTPs on external sites.

What to do if you were affected: If you have entered your banking details or OTPs into a suspicious website:

  • Immediately Tell your bank (DBS or UOB) via their official hotline to report the incident and secure your account.
  • Change your internet banking password immediately.
  • Monitor your bank statements for any unauthorised transactions.
  • Tell the Police by lodging a report.
